WARNING: A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS OF THE SOUTHERN GROUP AND OPEN WATERS OF THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL GROUPS OF TUVALU.

 

Situation: A strong south-easterly wind flow affects southern and central group of Tuvalu. Meanwhile, a weak trough of low pressure lies slowly moving over northern group of Tuvalu.

 

Forecast for this morning until 6:00 pm.

Overcast to cloudy period with brief showers of rain at times over northern group. Elsewhere, cloudy with chance of passing showers of rain at times.

For the Southern and Central group: South-easterly winds 20 to 25 knots gusting up to 30 knots over land areas, 25 to 30 knots gusting up to 35 knots over open waters. Seas rough to very rough with south- easterly swells 3 to 4 meters.
Elsewhere: south-easterly winds 15 to 20 knots with higher winds at times. Seas very rough with south- easterly swells 2 to 3 meters.
Maximum air temperature: 31.0°C. Average air temperature 29.0°C.

 

Inundation Information: Inundation of low-lying and coastal areas, swamps and barrow pits overflow affected by the spring tide of this month will continue until Saturday, 18th July.

Tidal Prediction: High tide                            -          6:55 am this morning at 3.01 meters. Low tide                             -         1:18 pm this afternoon at 1.13 meters.
