WARNING: A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS INFORCE OVER OPEN WATERS OF THE SOUTHERN GROUP OF TUVALU.

Situation: A strong south-easterly wind flow affects the southern group of Tuvalu. Meanwhile, an active trough of low pressure is slowly moving over most of the Tuvalu atolls.

Forecast for this morning until 6:00 pm:
For Niulakita and Nukulaelae: Partly cloudy with a chance of a few passing showers of rain at times.
Elsewhere, Cloudy periods to overcast with scattered showers of rain heavy at times and possible thunderstorms.
For the Southern group: south-easterly winds 15 to 20 knots gusting up to 25 knots over land areas near squalls, but 20 to 25 knots gusting up to 30 knots over open waters. Seas very rough with southeast swells 2 to 3 meters.
Elsewhere, easterly winds 10 to 15 knots with higher winds at times.
Seas moderate to rough with southeast swells 2 to 3 meters.
Maximum air temperature: 31.5°C. Average air temperature: 27.5°C.
